OPServices was formed by Dave Dawson who is the present Managing Director. Dave has been working consistently within the semiconductor industry since 1985. Initially in Lincoln UK with Marconi Electronic Devices Limited (MEDL), which later became GEC Plessey Semiconductors Ltd (GPSL), he gained significant experience particularly in the assembly and testing of Hi-Reliability Space Class (SOS) & Mil-aerospace components as well as  SAWF, MCM in addition to commercial lead frame products. This solid foundation “onshore” led to an increased involvement with the strategic assembly & testing activities for GPSL “offshore”, and during this time he completed several process and product transfers from the UK site to South East Asia. In 1995 Dave relocated to the Swindon facility to assist in the creation of the GPSL “Centre of Excellence” which rationalised GPSL activities from Oldham, Lincoln, Plymouth to the Swindon site.

On completion of this project and with a desire to broaden his industry experience he moved in 1997 to Micronas SA, Switzerland. In this new  role as Subcontractor manager he was responsible for all site activities while resident within South East Asia region. This position enabled Dave to experience mass-production on a daily basis as he drove capacity expansions and rationalisation initiatives for the business, while supplying key accounts to Nokia (NMP). After almost 15 years of extremely valuable and varied experiences within the electronics manufacturing environemnt he formed OPServices Ltd in 1999.
